Mum’s Birthday @ The Real Greek

Hey Sweethearts,

My mums birthday is on Tuesday so we decided to take her out for a meal this weekend to celebrate. Last night we went to a restaurant called ‘The Real Greek’ in spitalfields market.

Can I just say the food is AMAZING! If you’ve never been, you NEED to go. It is a mix of hot and cold meze and the taste and flavours of the food is out of this world.

The atmosphere is calm and last night we were wining and dining to the likes of bob Marley and Stevie wonder. It was such a wonderful and relaxing evening spent with my family, we were there for nearly 3 hours!

The staff were absolutely amazing. They were so helpful and catered to our needs perfectly.

We bought a massive red velvet cake for mum as it’s her favourite and the whole restaurant sang happy birthday as the waiter walked over to our table. It was a lovely and memorable moment.

We will definitely be returning to The Real Greek again. It was a lovely evening spent with lovely people.

Hey sweethearts,

So, yesterday was my first weigh-in at my weight watcher meeting. I was so nervous as to what the scales would say. I hoped and prayed all day for a loss. I ate good, and my colleague advised me not to eat or drink after 4pm on weigh days so that my belly has time to digest everything before weigh in.

I now weigh 10st 13.5!!! a total loss of 4.5 pounds! πŸ™ŒπŸŽ‰πŸŽŠ

For the first time in my life I had lost weight eating REAL food! No fad diet powder shakes, no diet soups, no starvation, just pure healthy real food!
I was overjoyed with happiness!

When I started this diet I was more than skeptical that it would work for me because I love food too much-especially carbs.
I couldn’t understand how it worked when I could eat everything I want, but now I do, thanks to using the pro points system. It has made me realise it’s ALL about portion control.

My day yesterday before weigh in consisted of:
30g Cheerios ( 3 PP )
1/2 pint of skimmed milk ( 3 PP )
Salad leaves ( 0 PP )
Tesco tuna and sweetcorn filler ( 3 PP )
Cucumber ( 0 PP )
4 slices Mcvities go ahead apple and sultana ( 5 PP ) (2 morning & 2 afternoon)

I drank tea with skimmed milk and two sweetener throughout the day and water and stopped drinking both at 4pm until weigh in.

I got home just in time for dinner.
I had fresh salad ( 0 PP ), 2 Asda chunky cod fillet ( 13 PP ) and 50g McCain wedges ( 2 PP ) and for dessert I had a WW chocolate ice cream brownie ( 4 PP ) and a Jaffa cake ( 1 PP ) to celebrate my results!

In total yesterday I used up all my daily allowance of 26 points plus 8 points from my extra weekly ones.

I am so so happy with my loss and I’m glad all my hard work and effort this week has paid off!

lets bring on week 2 and see what the scales next week!!

Lots of love,

Hi Sweethearts,

Today I went to the flower garden with my mum and dad as they needed some new flowers to fill their pots with. Its always been a dream of mine to become a florist as I adore pretty flowers and arranging them so I was eager to get started and put my skills to the test.

I filled the four hanging baskets we bought with all different types of flowers. They aren’t all out yet so I’m so excited to see them blossom!

Here’s some pics I took along the way!

I will do an update post when they start blooming! πŸ™‚

What’s your favourite flower? Mine is a daisy!

A Christmas I Won’t Forget…

As mentioned In my previous post, I noted that I have recently become engaged to my Gorgeous fiancΓ© Kane!

2 months on and I am still on cloud 9!
Here’s my story…

Proposal: 25th December 2013
Where: Gran Bahia Principle lHotel, Mexico

Kane and I were talking one day in March 2013, when he turned to me and said he was going to arrange a surprise holiday in December. He was always talking about us going away for Christmas/New Year someday so I agreed to let him take control of booking the holiday for us (usually it’s me because I like to to arrange things) and to be fair I was intrigued to see what he would do.

Kane began planning with my mum, as luckily she is a travel agent, so she was now in on the surprise.

As the months went by leading up to it Kane was not giving the game away as to where he was taking me. I cheekily asked for hints every month but all he gave me was: huts, sea, and sand – not much help as that could have been anywhere!

I eventually gave up trying to find out as I didn’t want to actually find out and ruin the whole surprise, but he did tell me the dates we were going as I had to book them off work:- 27th – 4th January 2014.

I was really looking forward to spending New Year in a different country and enjoy being with Kane, just us. We are currently saving for a deposit so right now we are still at home with our parents. Our houses are so busy so we hardly get any alone time together.

Months passed and I got more and more excited to find out where were were going, However, a week before we were due to fly out, we were at Kane’s Christmas work-do and as we were leaving a very drunk colleague of his tapped him on the shoulder and said ‘have fun in Mexico’ – right in front of me!! she had spoilt the surprise. I was so upset, for Kane really as I know how hard he worked to arrange everything.

But anyway, it was now Christmas Eve and my mum and dad were on to me about packing (typical me I leave everything to the last minute).
I was unsure why they were so eager for me to pack because as far as I was aware we weren’t going until the 27th. I then got a call from Kane saying he was coming round with his mum for a drink with me and the family – I thought this was weird because they don’t usually come over on Christmas Eve.

They got to my house and Kane took me aside and told me to pack because we were leaving early tomorrow morning (Christmas Day)! I was gob smacked I started laughing and then quickly rushed up stairs to pack. Kane and his mum came over to pick me up with my suitcase which is why they disguised it as a Christmas drink!

We left mine and got to Kane’s about 10pm. I was so excited by the point and couldn’t sleep because I was too excited to get up (kinda like that Disneyland advert).

We arrived at the airport and sat down eagerly awaiting to board our flight.

We soon began to board and set ourselves ready for the 10hr flight.

We arrived at the Gran Bahia Hotel about 7pm. We were so tired but we got showered and headed to the Akumal restaurant for dinner. (The complex has 3 resorts (Tulum, Akumal and Coba), 8 restaurants and 21 bars! It’s massive and I’ll do a blog post about the hotel in more detail).

Drum Roll Please…….

And so, we left the dinner table and headed back to our apartment as I desperately needed to change my heeled sandals as they were killing me.

As we walked up the path, it was so peaceful, no one was around (apart from the crickets) and there were little yellow fairy lights that decorated the trees. It was so romantic.

We got to the stairs of the apartment and Kane turned to me. He kissed me and gave me a speech, he told me how much he loved me and that I was the only one for him and then he got down on one knee and reached in to his pocket and said ‘Kelly, will you marry me?’. I was in a state of shock I was just started balling my eyes out and said yes of course and I told him to get up and I hugged him. He picked me and twirled me around with the biggest smiles on our faces like in a fairytale. He put me down and opened the box to my ring. I fell in love with it instantly, he got it completely spot on, it was everything I ever wanted – Sparkly, Diamonds, Cushion shape. Just perfection.

We went upstairs so I could change my shoes and to my surprise there were rose petals on the bed, swans made out of a towel and the room was filled with balloons. It was so lovely. I quickly changed my shoes and we headed down to the bar for drinks to celebrate our engagement.

I spent the rest of the night, and holiday for that matter, just admiring it’s beauty and I couldn’t even tell you how many times I said thank you to him. I was so grateful and blessed.

Kane had previously told the hotel his plans to pop the question and they gave us a free bottle of champagne and a heart shaped desert at the A La Carte Dinner we had the following evening on Boxing Day.

I must just say that I was adamant Kane wasn’t going to propose to me on holiday as we had a long talk before we went about how he couldn’t afford to take me away and pay for a ring, but boy did he pull the cat out of the bag with this one!

I remember it as if it was yesterday and it will stay in my heart forever.
